Nokia announces X7 and E6 Symbian Anna smartphones

Today Nokia announced two new Symbian devices along with their upcoming Symbian update which is code-named Anna. The two smart-phones, The Nokia E6 and the Nokia X7 are both touch enabled Symbian devices.

The E6 features a QWERTY keyboard and takes from the success of the design of the previous E-Series devices. Meanwhile the X7 features a 4 inch capacitive touch display and a sleek new design

Symbian Anna update now available

The Symbian Anna update has finally started rolling out for the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and the Nokia C6-01 in key European and Asian markets including UK, France, Italy and India.

Nokia C7 running Symbian Anna demonstrated

This is a promotional video from Nokia which shows the Nokia C7 running Symbian Anna. The device features a 3.5 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture and is powered by a 680 MHz processor with 256MB of RAM.

The Symbian Anna update is expected to arrive on the C7 very soon.

Symbian Anna publicly available by August

The latest update to the Symbian OS platform, code-named Anna was significant as it brought much needed performance improvements along with a new UI to the Symbian platform.

This update was first introduced back in April and we later saw the Nokia X7 and the Nokia E6 running this new version of Symbian.
