Nokia announced three new members of the Asha family at today's Nokia World keynote in Abu Dhabi - The Nokia Asha 500, Nokia Asha 502 and Nokia Asha 503. The new Asha phones come in a wide variety of vibrant colors, but that's not all they have to stand out with visually. They feature something called a crystal-clear design, with a bright, colorful body covered by a transparent layer.

Nokia Transit, which was previously available in BetaLabs is now available for Nokia Series 40 and Nokia Asha full-touch devices through the Nokia Store. The application is still in beta and may have some errors, but now reaches out to more users to help them navigate their cities by public transport.

Nokia updates Maps data for Windows Phone, Symbian, Meego and Asha

Nokia has updated their mapping database for Nokia Drive on Windows Phone 7, Symbian, Meego and Asha platform. The update brings more details and improved map features along with broader coverage to the service.

You can update your Maps data for most of your devices through the Nokia Suite for Windows. On your Symbian device select the 'check for updates' button on Map loader menu of Nokia Maps app. On MeeGo device got to Maps Application > ManageMaps > Check for updates.

Nokia Asha 210 - Video Review

The Nokia Asha 210 is an affordable feature phone which is priced at $72 without the need of a contract. For the price you get a 2.4 inch display, a QWERTY keyboard with a dedicated key to the WhatsApp/Facebook, 64MB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, optional dual-SIM connectitiy, Wi-Fi and a 2 megapixel camera.

While some may prefer paying a little extra for an entry level Android or the Nokia Lumia 520, we think the Asha 210 is still a great choice for someone looking for an entry level device with access to social networking.

Nokia Asha 501 - Video Preview

The Nokia Asha 501 runs Nokia's new Asha platform with a Swipe UI and a new home screen called "Fastlane" which gives users instant access to recently accessed contacts, social networks and apps. The device features a  3.0 inch capacitive touch display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 128MB of internal storage, a 4GB microSD card and a 3.2 megapixel camera capable of video capture. The handset is capable of lasting 48 days on standby and 17 hours of talk time.
