Nokia Belle Refresh update coming to first generation Symbian^3 devices

We know that the first generation Symbian^3 devices will not be receiving the Nokia Belle FP1 or newer updates. However Nokia promised to continue offering More fixes and changes to these handsets.

What's new in Nokia Belle FP1

Nokia Astound will not receive Nokia Belle update

When Nokia started the roll-out of Nokia Belle Symbian update, the Nokia Astound was a noted absentee in the list of devices which were set to receive the latest version of Symbian.

Now it turns out that the Astound will not be receiving Nokia Belle according to a Twitter post by NokiaUS.

Nokia Belle update finally gets a release date

Nokia (Symbian) Belle has finally been given a release date by Nokia Vietnam. The upcoming update to the Symbian platform is reported for a release on February 8th.

After a previous report from Nokia stated that new Symbian devices were coming with Symbian Belle out of the box it was evident that it wouldn't be long before the update was rolled out to all the supported devices. While Nokia did promise to have the update available by February after delayed a Q4 2011 no set date was given by the company until now.

Nokia now shipping new Symbian devices with Symbian Belle

Nokia has confirmed that they have begun the roll-out of Symbian Belle  devices in various regions. The latest update to Symbian will be available on all new Symbian devices out of the box.

Symbian Belle will be available to the Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia E6, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia 500 and the Nokia N8. It should be only a matter of time now before the software update begins to roll-out to the various existing devices.

Symbian Belle delayed until next year

Nokia has released Symbian Anna to all the new Symbian handsets and everyone is now eagerly awaiting the next iteration which is Symbian Belle. The OS update is listed as coming soon by Nokia and information has been pointing towards a release in 2011, but a recent tweet from Nokia UK says that we will have to wait till sometime next year.

Symbian Belle is supposed to bring Symbian devices in line with it's competitors in terms of it's user interface which will feature a notification system, customizable live widgets, NFC sharing, upgraded browser and increased number of home-screens.

Nokia N8 Belle update (111.30.607) appears on Navifirm

The Symbian Belle update for the Nokia N8 is now available on Navifirm. Nokia previously aimed at releasing this update by the end of this year but have since announced that the Symbian Belle update will only be available in 2012.

Does the fact that this version has appeared on Navifirm, which is an official Nokia resource mean that Symbian Belle is ready for release?

Symbian Belle - Coming Soon

The Symbian Belle update may be coming quite soon for the Symbian^3 devices that was previously expected. It is expected that the Symbian Belle update will be either have it's availability announced or it's release time-frame revealed on October 27th, at the end of Nokia World. Devices like the Nokia N8, C7 and E7 which are around a year old now which benefit greatly from the release which offers features like a notifications center and a refined UI.

Belle (which means beautiful in French) improves on Symbian Anna and offers new features like new home-screens, widgets, improved customization and built in support for NFC.

Is Nokia counting down to Symbian Belle

Nokia has announced that something new is coming for the Symbian platform on Wednesday. The announcement is being made on their Facebook page in the form of a 3-D style counter.
