BlackBerry devices on AT&T receive 10.2.1.3014 software update

AT&T is now rolling out the 10.2.1.3014 OS update (also known as 10.2.1.3337 update) to the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 on its network. The update doesn't seem to bring any new features over the BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 update, so we assume it contains minor bug fixes and performance improvements for the carrier devices.

HTC One M8 for AT&T receives Android 4.4.3 software update

The for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.4.3 software update. The new software will bring the 2.23.502.3 version number and is expected to be around 660MB in size, so users are recommended to connect to Wi-Fi and have their devices fully charged before initiating the update.

Lumia Cyan now available for some Developer Preview devices

As you may know, those running the Windows Phone Developer Preview are not eligible for the Lumia Cyan update and have to revert back to the commercial version of Windows Phone 8.0 in order to receive Nokia's custom update. Fortunately it looks like Microsoft has rectified the issue for some devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. The new software updates the Android version from 4.2.2 up to Android 4.4.2 and brings the I257UCU2BNG4 build number.We've already seen Android 4.4.2 arrive on Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular variants of he device, so it's about time for AT&T customers to get the same experience.

Samsung Galaxy Note II for AT&T receives Android 4.4.2 software update

The Samsung Galaxy Note II for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and brings Android 4.4.2 along with several new features and improvements.

You will be able to download and install the update once you receive the OTA update notification. Before updating your device make sure your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to your Wi-Fi network to avoid unnecessary data charges. If you don't receive the update notification, you can check for it under Settings.

The Nokia Lumia 635 is now available for pre-order in the U.S. through the Microsoft Store. You can select between the Lumia 635 for AT&T, which is priced at $99, or the Lumia 635 for T-Mobile which will cost you $129.  Both phones are free of contracts and costs lesser than the $189 retail price of the smartphone.

According to Geohot, towelroot is compatible with both the AT&T and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 models, but in reality it should work perfectly fine with anything that’s running a kernel built before June 3.

HTC 'Eye' for AT&T maybe the ultimate selfie phone

According to a new report, HTC is in the process of developing a new handset, codenamed 'Eye', which is set for release during Q4 this year, and may be offered through AT&T in the U.S.. The name is apparently is apparently in reference to the device front camera, which is meant to make it the very best 'selfie' smartphones on the market.

Motorola Moto X, Moto G and Moto E receive Android 4.4.3 software update

Motorola continues its trend for offering quick software updates, by releasing Android 4.4.3 for its Moto X, Moto G (LTE), and Moto E smartphones. Motorola's Steve Horowitz, SVP of Software Engineering, has announced that Android 4.4.3, which happens to be the latest version of the platform, has been released for certain Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E models. While the others are expected to receive the update soon.

Asus PadFone X for AT&T can be pre-ordered on June 6, priced at $199 on contract


The Asus PadFone X will be available for pre-order to AT&T customers starting June 6 and will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract. While the carrier did not specify an exact release date, it is expected to be available sometime next month.

The update includes an improvement to the battery life, restyled status and navigation bars, a new full-screen mode, support for the Google Cloud printer and enhanced processing speed.

AT&T to purchase DirectTV


AT&T has announced that their plans to purchase DirectTV, which will give the carrier access to 20 million DirectTV customers. This would theoretically, make them more competitive with Comcast, which is in the midst of their own merger with Time Warner Cable.
