Twitter seams to be facing a global outage today (07-26-2012) and is possible due to the 2012 Olympic Games, which is expected to cause a spike in the micro blogging site.Twitter has acknowledged the issue stating that their engineers are working to resolve the issue, however they have not shared any details or when the site will be back up.
Visitors on Twitter are greeted with the following message
Users in Northj America, Eupore, Asia, the Middle East and Africa have been reporting difficulty accessing the Twitter website. However users have also stated that they have been able to post updates (tweets) using their mobile apps.
