Sony Xperia Z3 Compact officially available in the US

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

We know that the Sony Xperia Z3 is headed to T-Mobile, while Verizon is also hosting the flagship in the form of the Xperia Z3v. Those who were hoping for its smaller sibling will be able to pick up the directly from the Sony Store in the US.

Since the Xperia Z3 Compact is not tied down to a carrier, it is being sold unlocked for a price of $529.99. Currently the handset is backordered, but will likely start shipping soon. You can purchase the Xperia Z3 Compact in black, white, green, or orange, but keep in mind that since this is a GSM device, it will only work on AT&T or T-Mobile networks. Sprint and Verizon customers are out of luck.

The Xperia Z3 Compact offers the same internal hardware as its larger sibling. Its specs include a 4.6 inch display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 20.7 megapixel rear camera, a 2.2 megapixel front camera and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. You also get dust- and water-resistant, while the smaller display size results in excellent battery life.
