The Google Nexus 6 is manufactured by Motorola, and will be one of the first products to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed. On top of that Motorola is planning to update quite a few of its smartphones to the latest version Android. While the company has not provided exact dates by which we can expect the update, you can see the full list of devices expected to be treated to Lollipop below.
Both the original Motorola Moto X and the Motorola Moto X (2014) will receive the update. Additionally the Motorola Moto G, Motorola Moto G (2014) and Motorola Moto E are also in line for the update. Other than the Moto Series, you can also expect the update to arrive on the Motorola DROID Ultra, Motorola DROID Maxx and Motorola DROID mini.
While there is no surprise that the flagships are given attention, its great to see the entry level Moto E will also be treated to the latest version of Google's mobile os.
Last year Motorola shocked the tech world by issuing some incredibly fast updates to Android 4.4 KitKat for a few of its smartphones, so hopefully this year the wait won't be long either.
