Microsoft launches XIM - a photo sharing app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched a brand new image sharing app called XIM, which allows users to share their photos with friends without needing your phone to make a full circle around the table. The app is free to download and available across iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

You can download the app directly on your device through its respective app store or by using the following links:

Requirements Android iOS 6.0 or greater WP8.0; WP 8.1

XIM uses the source of the photos as the "parent" device and feeds the images as a slideshow to your friends devices in a synced manner - so you're all looking at the same picture. And to make it easier for your friends to receive - they don't need to have Xim installed on their handsets, as it has web-based client as well.

All you have to do is launch XIM, pick the photos you want to share, and pick the contacts you wish to share them with. The recipients will get a text message with a link to the web client. When they click it - they are in - seeing exactly what you are seeing. Any member of the viewing party can add text comments, just in case you are not in the same room, and if anyone else has the Xim app as well - they can also add pictures to the slideshow as you go. The images delete themselves after a certain amount of time, so that means less storage or privacy concerns.
