New Motorola Moto G officially announced

New Motorola Moto G officially announced

Today's focus maybe on the newly announced Moto X, but Motorola also lifted the covers on a brand new Motorola Moto G. Actually Motorola hasn't changed too much on this device, and it shares a lot of the same features with last year's Moto G so lets take a closer look and find out what's new.

In terms of hardware, the Moto G comes with a 5 inch display compared to the 4.5 inch one on last year's model. YOu also get front facing stereo speakers, an 8 megapixel rear camera (was 5MP), a 2 megapixel front camera (was 1.3MP) and a microSD card slot. While the original Moto G supports the Wi-Fi a/b/g/n standards, the new one now adds Wi-fi /ac support, meaning you can enjoy up to 1 Gbps download speeds, provided that your ISP and router can supply those, of course. Other than that, the device has the same Snapdragon 400, 1GB of RAM, swappable shells, and software offerings.

Additionally, if you live in Brazil, there is a new dual-SIM DTV model which will receive digital TV signals, so you can watch TV on the go.

The new Moto G will be made available for purchase starting later today, September 5th at noon EST, for just $179 unlocked. As before, it will be released around the world, but the exact regional release has not been detailed just yet.
