The ZTE Nubia 5S mini is headed to the US for an unlocked price of only $280. The device is now available on pre-order at Amazon, and will start shipping out to users on August 27. It comes in an easily pocketable size and two amazing cameras which it hopes will help the device establish itself in this competitive market.
The Nubia 5S mini features a 4.7 inch 720p HD display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 iris, a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies, LTE connectivity, a 2000mAh battery and a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB of RAM. You may not be getting the hardware power of the Google Nexus 5, but the Nubia 5S mini easily rivals the Google Nexus 4 and attempts to trump it in a few key areas.
However the ZTE Nubia 5S mini may not be running the latest version of Android, as it is said to be running the much older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. ZTE has done an amazing job customizing the user interface, offering a unique experience. While some users may still prefer getting the latest versions of Android, ZTE hopes that their high end cameras and their vow to repair any damage (an $80 purchase) you inflict for any reason up to 18 months after purchase, will help them win over some customers.
