Bookseller Barnes & Noble has partnered with Samsung to release their newest Nook device, which is known as the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK. The 7 inch tablet is being offered at an extremely affordable $179 and even packs an additional $200 worth of content to sweeten the deal.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK features a 7 inch 1280 by 800 pixel display, two cameras, built in GPS and a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 based chipset. The Android powered device has Samsung's Touchwiz user interface, which has been deeply integrated into the Barnes & Noble ecosystem of books, magazines and other content.
While the Galaxy Tab 4 is a bit more expensive than the fairly similar Amazon Kindle Fire HD (that sells for $139), it has one key advantage - a rich Android skin with full access to the Google Play Store. Amazon’s tablet, in contrast, only offers its Amazon Appstore catalog with a much more limited selection.
