The Nokia Lumia 820 is now reportedly receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan in the UK, Ireland and the EU. In the UK and Denmark, the country variant of the device is getting the update, along with carrier variants in Finland (Sonera) and Ireland (Meteor).
With Windows Phone 8.1 your Lumia 820 will get access to great new features like Cortana, a personal virtual assistant built to manage your life. Cortana will allow you to set reminders by people as well as by time or location. Your device will also get several other features and enhancements including the Action Center which manages your incoming notifications along with the ability to set a background wallpaper for your Live tiles. The update will be pushed out OTA to handsets running Windows Phone 8.0, and users are advised to have their battery fully charged and their devices connected to Wi-Fi before downloading the update. Considering that this is likely a staged rollout, it will be a while before all users see the update. You can also manually check for the update on your device by heading to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates.
Those who are running the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview may have to revert their devices back to Windows Phone 8.0 in order to install the official Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan.
