The folks at XDA have managed to port the Android L Preview Release to the HTC One M7. The developer team have been working on bringing the latest version of Android to other devices since Google released the Preview for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013). We have already seen the Nexus 4 receive Android L courtesy of XDA, now its time for HTC's former flagship.
However keep in mind that this is still an alpha release, which means its in an early stage of development and several features and application do not work. Additionally, since ramdisk and kernel modifications were made to accommodate Android L on the HTC One M7, there is a good chance that the phone won't run like you would expect it to. As things stand, the GPS feature is working, but Wi-Fi, data, Bluetooth, sensors, camera and sound are not working.
The Android L Preview Release is primarily meant for developers, so that they can prepare their applications to support the next version of Android when it is released later this year. If you want to take the chance, you can click on the sourcelink for all of the directions. If you do happen to get Android L running on your HTC One M7, please leave us a comment and let us know how it goes.
