Samsung Galaxy S4 mini for Verizon receives Android 4.4 KitKat

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini for Verizon (SCH-I435) is now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. The update will bring the Android 4.4.2 along with the KOT49H.I435VRUBND5 software version and will come to your devices over-the-air. With the update you will get several new features and improvements from KitKat along with certain new enhancements to your device which are exclusively from Samsung.

For starters, Google Hangouts with SMS support is now preloaded, the stock Samsung Messaging app has received a nifty Font Size menu, and KNOX 2.0 has been thrown in for good measure, as well. A number of performance and stability issues have also been fixed, most notably the Wi-Fi connectivity bug and the force-closing of Google's Voice Search.

Keep in mind that Android updates are not made available for all devices on the same day and are usually rolled out in stages. It may be a couple do days before you will be able to download and install the update on your device, but you can manually check for it under Settings.
