Tumblr for Android and iOS updated (3.6)

Yahoo owned Tumblr has just released a major update for their Android and iOS apps, which now let you change colors and fonts while testing out new themes right from your smartphone. Tumblr is best described as a social blogging platform.

You can download the updates directly on your device through its respective app stores or by using the following links:

The update, dubbed the biggest in the past 5 years, should help bridge the social network’s desktop and mobile platforms at a time when more and more people are visiting the site on smartphones and tablets. About half of Tumblr’s users are mobile, with that number expected to grow rapidly in the near future, so putting an emphasis on mobile usage is more important now than ever.

In total, Tumblr says it now offers 3.3 billion possible combinations for your mobile Tumblr page, factoring in customization options for your header image, fonts, colors and a “bunch of other things.” Any changes you make on mobile will also show up in your desktop browser and vice versa.
