Microsoft is sending out press invitations for an event which is scheduled to date place on May 20th, at 11am EDT/8am PDT. Microsoft has hinted that possibility of showing Surface mini by mentioning ‘small’ word in the invite.
There have been rumors of a smaller sized Surface tablet from Microsoft for some time now, and we have even seen what the device may look like thanks to some early release cases for the device. One of its main traits being a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor instead of the NVidia Tegra processor which is available on the Surface 2 along with the other Surface tablets in the past. The device is also expected to feature an 8 inch display and an active digitizer, which would make it perfect for note taking.
Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella will likely host the event alongside Panos Panay, who is the head of the Surface team. Nokia's former CEO Stephen Elop is also expected to be a part of the event, under his new role as Executive Vice President of Microsoft Mobile Devices and Services.
We will be covering the event as it happens, so make sure you tune in for updates
