HP SlateBook 14 leaked: the first Android-based notebook

A new leak has revealed the HP Slatebook 14, which happens to be the first notebook that runs Android as its (only) primary operating system. The notebook features a 14 inch touch display with a 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution and is powered by an unspecified NVidia Tegra processor.

Interestingly Android has never been used as the primary platform on a mainstream manufacturer notebook in the past. There have convertibles along with other operating systems and on 2-in-1 tablets with keyboard, but never as the only OS on a regular notebook.

Based on the leaked images, the HP Slatebook 14 sports a modern, stylish design with a large Beats Audio speaker outfitted above its chiclet style keyboard. You also can see a front facing camera, 3 USB ports, a full HDMI connector, a headphone jack, microSD card slot and even a SIM card slot which will enable full mobility.

Would you consider purchasing a notebook powered by only Android ? Would you miss the productivity features offered offered by a regular Windows notebook? Share your thought with us in the comments section below
