Google has released dedicated Google Docs and Google Sheets apps for Android and iOS devices. Both apps are totally offline-enabled, so no connection is needed to edit or create new sheets or documents. There's also a dedicated Google Slides apps coming soon.
Google Docs
With Google Docs you can create, edit & collaborate with others on documents from your Android phone or tablet with the free Google Docs app. You can download Google Docs for Android through the Google Play Store on your device and Google Docs for iOS through the Apple App Store on your iOS device. Previously both Docs and Sheets were a part of Google Drive, and it doesn't look like these apps do anything new for now. However it is likely that Google will continue to add features to these applications over the months ahead.
