Amazon Fire TV - Video Review

Amazon Fire TV
The is the newest member of the streaming media player family, joining the likes of Apple, Google and Roku. The FireTV uses industry leading hardware to deliver Prime streaming service coupled with digital downloads and rentals from Amazon, but also includes essential providers like Netflix, Hulu Plus, ESPN, Pandora, iHeartRadio and others. The Fire TV goes one step further by offering casual gaming and a bit more with the optional game controller.

Amazon's Fire TV comes with high end specifications which outshines its competitors. The voice search and gaming features further set the Fire TV apart allowing it to better match some of the gaming consoles in the market. Additionally Amazon has lined up most of the content partners you could want on top of their own comprehensive catalog.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, the Fire TV purchase may make sense, though its important to note that the Roku Streaming Stick, which offers Amazon Prime access is available for half the price. Even those who are happy with what the Chromecast has to offer, wouldn't necessarily need to consider adding a Fire TV to their lineup.

Its $99 price puts it at an interesting position., allowing it to compete with the Roku 3 and Apple TV. If you prefer casual gaming over hardcore titles, the Fire TV even makes a great alternative to  Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
