[Guide] How to install the Google Now Launcher on any Android device

Google Now Launcher

The Google Now Launcher was recently released on the Google Play Store for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices. However there is a workaround to install this beautiful new launcher on any Android device, though custom ROM users are said to face some issues.

The following steps will show you how to install the Google Now Launcher on your Android smartphone or tablet. If you own a Nexus or Google Play Edition device you can download if officially from the PlayStore instead.

  1. Download and install the latest version of Google Search for Android.
  2. Download the Google Now Launcher APK file and install it to your device using a file manager like ES Explorer
  3. Once you have installed the APK head over to Settings, where you will find Home under Devices. Click on Home and make sure that the Google Now Launcher is selected.
  4. You should now be able to say "OK Google" on your homescreen to call on Google Now.
Please leave us a comment if you sideload the APK on your Android device and let us know which devices it works with.
