HTC One starts receiving the Android 4.4.2 software update around the world
HTC One users in Europe are reportedly receiving their Android 4.4 KitKat software update. Meanwhile we reported that the Android 4.4.2 update is in its final stages of testing with US carriers before it is ready for release for US variants of the handset.
The latest software bring the 4.19.401.8 software version and is only 308.24MB in size. Along with the new features and improvements offered by KitKat, the update will patch some security vulnerabilities, introduce cloud printing, extra Bluetooth profiles, and, sadly, the Adobe Flash player toggle will be gone from the browser, so you'll probably have to sideload it to experience Flash content.
The update is being rolled OTA (over-the-air) and you should receive a notification when it is available for your device. However if you are impatient to wait for the update to arrive, you could consider sideloading the official update file by heading over to the source link from XDA below.
Meanwhile the US carriers will continue testing the Android 4.4 KitKat update for their variants of the HTC One, HTC One mini and HTC One max. Once the device has completed undergoing carrier certification, we should see the update rollout begin in the US as well.
