As you may already know, Verizon has rolling out the BlackBerry 10.2.1 software update for BlackBerry 10 devices on its network, including the BlackBerry Z10. The update should reach all BlackBerry 10 users in the U.S. by the end of next month, and will continue to its roll out to regions like Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
Lets take a closer look at some of the key features which will be offered with the latest version of BlackBerry 10.
Firstly we have the Priority Hub, which will learn how you use your phone and curate a view of your most important emails, calls, instant messages and notifications. This allows you to quickly receive those communications that are important to you. The priority Hub will organize content from your Email, BBM, LinkedIn, Twitter and more.
BlackBerry has also continued improving the BlackBerry Keyboard, making it learn and adapt from your individual writing style to offer better personalized next word suggestions.
BlackBerry has included a new battery usage indicator and power monitoring options with the BlackBerry 10.2.1 software update. BlackBerry also promises the update will optimize your battery usage for improved power consumption.
The Instant Previews feature, allows you to preview incoming BBM, text and email messages within the app you are using, without having to open the dedicated apps. You can even respond to a particular message from the BlackBerry Hub or from the notification without having to leave the app you are on. The notifications in the lockscreen are also actionable, allowing you to respond to someone without having to unlock your phone or open the appropriate application.
To make responding to text messages and email a lot easier, the update allows you to set up different SMS and email groups so that you can communicate with a large number of people at the same time.
BlackBerry has also made improvements to the web browser. You get improved HTML5 browsing, full Adobe Flash compatibility and unlimited tabs. BlackBerry has also introduced Reader Mode which allows you to save what you want to read at a later time.
