International HTC One receives Android 4.3 with Sense 5.5 update

The international HTC One users are now receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update, which comes coupled with the HTC Sense 5.5 interface. Until now this version has only been available on the HTC One max phablet.

The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and it batches, so it may be awhile before it reaches all the HTC One devices in the market. Once you receive your update notification make sure that you are connected to Wi-Fi and that your device has at least 50% or battery charge before you update. You can also manually check for the update availability under Settings

With Android 4.3, you will have some visual and functional improvements including an updated notification system and autocomplete in your dialer. You can learn more about the features and improvements in Android 4.3 here.

Among the biggest updates that Sense 5.5 brings are some much needed improvement on BlinkFeed, like the option to turn off the social aggregator on and off – a pretty serious omission, considering that you're forced to stare at it, like it or not.

HTC definitely got the message, for they have further improved upon their proprietary feature, and it now also interweaves content from new streams, such as Google+ and Instagram, not to mention that you can also save up to 120 articles for later, offline reading.

Video Highlights have also been improved and can now be as long as you want them to be, instead of having a pesky limit. Other improvements include an improved Gallery app, an easier, more visual multitasking and a plethora of minor refinements and bug fixes.

The update may not roll out to every CID today, but a direct link is available for anyone who wants to take their chances with it. The download is 677MB, so a Wi-Fi connection may be in order.
