Samsung set to launch Tizen at its developer conference in October

Samsung has scheduled their own developer conference in San Francisco between October 26 and 27 and the company is expected to launch its own Tizen mobile operating system during the event. While Samsung primarily uses Android on its smartphones, it has been expected to launch Tizen devices for some time now, and its unlikely the company will center an entire developer event around its TouchWiz interface for Android.

Now a new report for Tizen Indonesia has confirmed that Samsung will indeed launch their Tizen platform at the Developer Conference.

The report also states that Tizen will be the main focus of the conference that that Samsung will hold several dedicated sessions for developers and partners to help them better understand Tizen and Samsung's vision for it. The launch of the first Tizen device also seems extremely likely during the conference, at least in the form of a developer device.

It will be interesting to see how the launch of Tizen will affect Samsung's large market share in Android. With Samsung hoping to convert their Galaxy users to use Tizen powered devices it will definitely mean Google is on for some competition in the near future.
