Microsoft Surface RT discounted as low as $349 at the Microsoft Store

The Microsoft Surface RT has received a price cut, now starting at $349 at Microsoft Store for its 32GB variant. That's a 30% discount over its regular $499 price and a much better price considering what the tablet offers. Meanwhile the 64GB variant of the tablet costs $449 with the optional Touch or Type Cover costing an additional $100

It looks like Microsoft is suddenly eager to sell their existing stock of Surface RT tablets. We first heard of a huge discounts for institutions, where the Surface RT was being offered for just $199 for the 32GB model. The newly discounted price is arguably the price the tablet should have been released at, but we have to wonder if its too late for the Redmond based company.

Microsoft is now rumored to be getting ready to unveil a newer smaller variant of the Surface RT with an 8.6 inch display and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor opposed to the Tegra 3 processor in the current model. Hopefully Microsoft will price their next tablet competitively and win a better place in the iPad dominated market.
