Sony Xperia ZL receives Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software update

Sony promised to release the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Sony Xperia Z and the Sony Xperia ZL soon after their launch. And even though the Xperia ZL arrived weeks after the Xperia Z, it looks like it will be the first of the two to receive the latest version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Currently the update is rolling out to users across Europe who own the C6503 of the Xperia ZL (LTE) model. You can get the update through the Sony PC Companion tool or over-the-air. The other models in other countries can expect the update rollout in the coming weeks.

The Xperia ZL features a 5 inch full HD touch display with a Mobile BRAVIA engine, 16GB of internal storage and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB of RAM.

Since these specifications are almost identical to the water-proof Xperia Z, it shouldn't be long before the Xperia Z users will also get a chance at the latest Android update.
