Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 receives Android 4.1.2 software update
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is now receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update. While the handset is a great mid-range option in was unfortunately released with Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which were already available at the time. Thankfully users can now enjoy all the features which come with the newer version of Android.
You will receive a notification when the update arrives for your device, but keep in mind that it may take some time as it is rolled out in phases. Meanwhile you can manually check for the update by connecting your device to Samsung Kies as they are generally available here before they are pushed (OTA) over-the-air.
The update brings you software version I8160XXMC8 and will include all the features of Jelly Bean like the performance improvements of Project Butter, the Google Now digital assistant, enhanced notifications and more. Samsung's own customizations and improvements are also expected, but its not clear of the handset will receive the new TouchWiz Nature UI.
