The process is applicable to devices vulnerable to the Limera1n exploit which include the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 4th. The iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, the iPads and iPod Touch 5th are not supported by this jailbreak.
If you have one of the supported devices, the guide to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 using Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14 follows:
[NOTE] This guide only applies to users using a pre-A5 device who have accidently upgraded to iOS 6.1.3. If you are running iOS 6.1.2 we advise you to stick with that update for now.
[NOTE] This is a tethered jailbreak, which will require you to plug your device into your computer every time you reboot your device.
[NOTE] If you are running a version of iOS 6 older than iOS 6.1.3 use our guide to jailbreak on iOS 6.1.2 using Evasi0n
[DISCLAIMER] This website does not recommend jailbreaking your handset. Keep in mind that jailbreaking your handset may void your Apple warranty. Following this guide may result in loss of data or device malfunction if you don't understand what you are doing, so please note that you are proceeding at your own risk.
- Download and install Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14
- Download iOS 6.1.3 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4th
- Download and install .NET Framework 3.5 (required by Sn0wbreeze for Windows)
The step-by-step guide follows
- Launch Sn0wbreeze and click the blue arrow on the bottom right side of the opened window.
- - Click Browse for an IPSW and select the firmware file you previously downloaded for your device.
- - Wait for your firmware to be verified, then click the next arrow again.
- - On the next screen select Simple Mode
[NOTE] At this point Sn0wbreeze will ask you if you want to activate your iPhone. Select Yes if you plan to use a tool like Ultrasn0w to unlock your device. Select No if you are on an official carrier or if you have a factory unlocked iPhone.
- - Now Sn0wbreeze will start building a custom firmware file, which can take awhile. Sit back and wait until the process is complete.
- - Once the process is completed, a custom ROM will be placed on your desktop
- - Sn0wbreeze will now ask you to enter Pwned DFU mode. You can follow the onscreen instructions on how to do this. In case it doesn't work the first time, feel free to try again.
- - Once in Pwned DFU mode, launch iTunes and keep your device plugged to your computer.
- - iTunes will detect your device in recovery mode. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click Restore in iTunes. Select the custom IPSW file created by Sn0wbreeze.
[NOTE] At this point make sure you select the custom IPSW file and not the original IPSW file.
- - Wait for the process to complete as the custom IPSW file is flashed to your device.
Once completed, your device will boot into the home screen and you should find Cydia installed.
Since its a tethered jailbreak you will have to use the following steps if you reboot or loose power.
- Sn0wbreeze will create a folder for a utility called iBooty on your desktop.
- - Launch iBooty.
- - Select your device from the drop-down menu, click the Start button in the iBooty window and follow the onscreen instructions on how to put your device into DFU mode.
- - Once iBooty is done, it will boot you back into your home screen.
