Sony Xperia TX receives Android 4.1 software update, includes special Sony features


Sony-XPERIA-tx-gxSony Xperia TX owners will be happy to know that their handsets are now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update, just four months after the device was updated to the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich. Android 4.1 will being the improvements of Project Butter which offer a lag free and smooth performance and the Google Now digital assistant which displays important information based on your location and requirements. Additionally users will also get actionable notifications which lets you return calls, view pictures or videos and read email directly from the notification pane.



Sony has added their own improvements alongside the Android update, including a revamped homescreen with up to 7 homescreen panels, app improvements and more. WALKMAN Album and Movies allow you to view your photos,videos and listen to your music all from one app.

The update also makes it much easier to add app shortcuts or widgets to the homescreens and to create folders by simply dropping an app on top or another. Camera enthusiasts should also notice an improvements in the quality of photos after the update.

The update generally takes some time to reach all users and you should receive a notification when it is available for your device. If you haven't received a notification you can check for the update manually under settings.
