Samsung Galaxy S 4 - Rumor Roundup

The latest rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 suggest that the device will feature a floating lens technology that allows users to access the display by hovering your finger above the link. This is achieved by an electric field that is detected by sensors on the screen. It is a feature similar to Air View on the Samsung Galaxy Note II which allows the S Pen to open an email by hovering above the notification for it. You can also see this feature on the affordable Sony Xperia Sola.

Another rumor suggest that Samsung will use phosphorescent materials for the red and green OLEDs, and fluorescent materials for the blue ones instead of the usual green and blue fluorescent OLEDs and the red phosphorescent OLEDs on the AMOLED displays. These Green PHOLED displays are expected to be 25% more power efficient compared to the AMOLED screen.

Yet another speculation suggests that Samsung will have two prototypes of the Galaxy S 4 – One will feature an LCD display and use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor while the other will feature an AMOLED display and be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa processor. It isnt known at this point Samsung will sell different models in different regions or if Samsung will settle on a final model in time for next weeks launch.

The handset is expected to come with Android 4.2.1 at launch and be updated to Android 4.2.2 once the Galaxy S 4 is launched. However at this point we are more interested to know how soon it will get Android 5.0 or the next version of Android Google will likely unveil at their I/O conference.
