The process is applicable to devices vulnerable to the Limera1n exploit which include the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 4th. The iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, the iPads and iPod Touch 5th are not supported by this jailbreak.
If you have one of the supported devices, the guide to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 using Redsn0w follows:
[NOTE] This guide only applies to users using a pre-A5 device who have accidently upgraded to iOS 6.1.3. If you are running iOS 6.1.2 we advise you to stick with that update for now.
[NOTE] This is a tethered jailbreak, which will require you to plug your device into your computer every time you reboot your device.
[DISCLAIMER] This website does not recommend jailbreaking your handset. Keep in mind that jailbreaking your handset may void your Apple warranty. Following this guide may result in loss of data or device malfunction if you don't understand what you are doing, so please note that you are proceeding at your own risk.
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 [WINDOWS | MAC OS]
- Download iOS 6.1.3 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4th
- Download iOS 6.0 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4th
The step-by-step guide follows:
- Run Redsn0w, click the Extras button and click Select IPSW. Point Redsn0w to the iOS 6.0 IPSW you previously downloaded.
- - Return to the Redsn0w home screen and click Jailbreak and follow the onscreen instructions. When prompted to install Cydia, select it.
- - Use the Redsn0w instructions to enter DFU mode when requested.
If you follow the steps carefully Redsn0w will start working in the background on jailbreaking your device using the Limera1n exploit. The process will take a few minutes and once you are done you will find Cydia installed on your home screen.
Since its a tethered jailbreak you will have to use the following steps if you reboot or loose power
- Connect your iOS device to your computer
- - Run Redsn0w, Click Extras and select the Just Boot option.
Your device will boot out of the Apple logo and return you to your homescreen.
