Google I/O tickets sell out in less than an hour

The tickets for the annual Google I/O went on sale today and were quickly sold out in less than an hour. The 2013 Google I/O is scheduled to take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on May 15th through the 17th. While the ticket sellout this year was fast it didn't beat last years sell-out of 30 minutes. Despite the pricey $900 tickets for the general public and $300 for students and teachers the demand for the tickets doesn’t seem to have reduced.

A big part of the demand could be attributed to the ‘swag’ which is handed out during the event along with exclusive access to the latest software and introductions. Last year Google unveiled during the I/O with Google Now, a new You Tube app, Google+ Events, Google 3D Earth, and Chrome and Google Drive for iOS. They also introduced the Google Nexus 7 and the Google Nexus Q.

The 6000 attendees of last years event walked away with a Google Galaxy Nexus, Google Nexus 7, and a Google Nexus Q. They were also given the exclusive opportunity to purchase a Google Glass for $1500 following an elaborate sky jumping demonstration of device in action. You can check back on the events of Google I/O 2012 here.

This year we are expected to see the first collaboration between Google and Motorola in the form of the Motorola X. We also expect to see the first unveiling of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
