
A big part of the demand could be attributed to the ‘swag’ which is handed out during the event along with exclusive access to the latest software and introductions. Last year Google unveiled Android 4.1 Jelly Bean during the I/O with Google Now, a new You Tube app, Google+ Events, Google 3D Earth, and Chrome and Google Drive for iOS. They also introduced the Google Nexus 7 and the Google Nexus Q.
The 6000 attendees of last years event walked away with a Google Galaxy Nexus, Google Nexus 7, and a Google Nexus Q. They were also given the exclusive opportunity to purchase a Google Glass for $1500 following an elaborate sky jumping demonstration of device in action. This year we are expected to see the first collaboration between Google and Motorola in the form of the Motorola X. We also expect to see the first unveiling of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
