Apple iOS 6.1.3 released for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, download links available

After a few betas and the release of iOS 6.1.1 and iOS 6.1.2 which came with fixing bugs in mind, Apple has released the final build of iOS 6.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The update will be offered (OTA) over-the-air and through iTunes. You can also download them using the links after the break.

Apple has focussed on improving their maps experience with the iOS 6.1.3 update, especially for the Japanese version. With the update they have improvements turn-by-turn navigation and improved optimization of directions to include highways over country lanes. Maps for Japan also now includes some 3D landmarks. Apple has also made several improvements to the Maps on their server side.

Along with the Maps update, Apple has also fixed the security flaw which allowed unauthorized users to bypass the lock-screen on iOS 6.1 and even iOS 6.1.2.

If you are a user who relies on jailbreaking your device, you will be disappointed to know that Apple has also patched the exploit which was used by the Evasi0n jailbreak. Users who want to keep their jailbreak in tact are advised not to update to iOS 6.1.3 at this time. There is no way for newer devices to downgrade, so if you update by accident, you will be stuck on iOS 6.1.3 without a jailbreak.

Those who want to update to iOS 6.1.3 can download the update by:
While updating OTA is the most convenient method, it is recommended to update using iTunes
