[Windows Phone app] Nokia Music updated (3.7.3.607) brings Nokia Music Plus service

The Nokia Music for Windows Phone app has been updated to version 3.7.3.607 and now brings the Nokia Music Plus service which was announced last week. Nokia Music is a great alternate to the Windows Phone 8 stock music play with features like Mix Radio, which is a music steaming service like Pandora. Nokia Music is completely free and allows you to play popular mixes or just use some of your favorite artists to build playlists on the go. You can even save playlists for offline listening. However there are a few limitations like the inability to skip more than 6 songs in an hour, and you cannot cache too many playlists for offline listening.

You can download the update directly on your Nokia Lumia device from the Nokia Collection on the Windows Phone Store or by using the link which follows:

Requirements Windows Phone 8.0 or above

Nokia Music Plus is a paid optional feature which overcomes the limitations of the free service, by allowing you to skip as many songs as you like and cache as many playlists as you want.

The service is currently only available in Europe and costs €3.99 a month, and while it has still to be announced in the U.S. we assume it will cost around $3.99 when it launches. For the price you will get unlimited offline stations, built-in lyrics and high definition audio over Wi-Fi.

Nokia Music has the following new features and improvements:
  • Never miss a gig again by adding them to your calendar
  • Purchase tracks and albums using your operator bill (selected operators only)
  • Start Nokia Music quicker and go back to where you were before
  • Subscribe to Nokia Music+ and get unlimited offline stations, skips, lyrics and HQ audio streams (selected countries only)
The update will also offer improved start-up times which we found very useful.
