[Android app] Google Search updated, brings Google Now widget, Fandango tickets and more

The Google Search app has been updated for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean devices and brings a new Google Now widget along with new features and improvements. Google Now gets you just the right information at just the right time. It tells you today’s weather before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, and more.

You can download the update directly on your Android device through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:

The Google Now widget can be used on the homescreen of any Android 4.1+ device, and there is also a lockscreen widget for Android 4.2 devices. The homescreen widget is quite useful and dynamically updates itself with what's important. Unfortunately the lockscreen widget, which is pictured below, shows only one item at a time.

Google Now has also been updated with new cards – The Movie Card appears when you are near a theater, offers Rotten Tomato scores for movies and even shows the relevant movie ticket if you have purchased one using Fandango. Google Now also includes Zillow integration which shows a card if you have been searching for a house in certain areas. Additionally you will also have college sports scores, which is a great addition if you are a college sports fan.

The Google Song Search feature has also been updated. If you are in voice mode when a song is playing, a music button will appear allowing you to find the name of the song in the background. It will even conveniently include a link to the Play Store if you want to purchase that particular song.
