Nokia to hold press conference at MWC on February 25

Nokia LogoNokia has set a press conference for February 25th at 9 am (Barcelona time) on the first day of the (MWC) Mobile World Congress. This translates to 3 am Eastern Time (12 MN Pacific) which means Nokia fans in the U.S and Canada should be prepared to stay up late if they want to get a glimpse of what Nokia has planned.

We expect to hear about a number of new devices including the Nokia EOS, Nokia Catwalk and the Nokia Laser during the event.

The Nokia Laser is expected to be similar to the Nokia Lumia 920 with a PureView camera and is expected to be available through Verizon in the U.S. as the company’s Windows Phone flagship.

Meanwhile the Nokia EOS is expected to be the first Windows Phone to feature PureView Phase 1 similar to what was demonstrated on the Nokia 808 PureView. This means we will likely see a near 41 megapixel camera sensor capable of pixel oversampling. With the 808 PureView reported to be the last Symbian device we are excited to see what Nokia can do on Windows Phone 8. The device is expected to arrive on AT&T later in 2013 and will feature an aluminum body with square edges.

The Nokia Catwalk is expected to be the slimmer successor to the Nokia Lumia 920 which will feature PureView Phase 2 and Nokia’s floating lens technology and optical image stabilization.

Obviously these are just codenames and we should know their real names during the press event next month. We will be following the event as it takes place, so be sure to stay tuned for updates as they come.
