Apple iOS 6.1 (Beta 4) now available for download
Apple has released the fourth beta of iOS 6.1 which follows iOS 6.1 beta 3 which was released on December 4. The update carries build number 10B5126b and is available to iOS developers registered in Apple’s iOS Dev Center. The update can either be downloaded OTA (over-the-air) or through the developer portal on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. To download the update OTA, you will have to iOS 6.1 beta 3 already installed on your device.
Apple has also released an updated preview version of Xcode 4.6 which is a development environment for the iOS SDK, which makes it easier to develop apps for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Developers have also been given access to a new Apple TV beta.
The final build of iOS 6.1 is expected to be released sometime in January 2013 and is expected to bring much needed improvements to the Apple Maps app. The update is also expected to improve the Passbook app to offer a more streamlined experience when dealing with boarding passes along with several performance improvements and bug fixes.
