Android 5.0 appears running on a Sony device, coming early next year ?

Now that Google has released Android 4.2 Jelly Bean we expect they have already started work on their next version of Android. Now evidence of the next version of the platform has been unveiled as Android 5.0.0 has been spotted on the NenaMark benchmark charts running on a mysterious Sony LT30i.

At this point we don’t have any visual proof of the existence of this device, so we will have to keep this information in mind and hold on until more evidence surfaces. However it doesn't to some extent validate that Android 5.0 may be the next version of Android.

We have been expecting the Android 5.0 number for some time now. We first expected it when Google announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Then we thought it would make its way to the next version which decided to be a second helping of Jelly Bean instead of the Key Lime Pie branding we hoped to see.

Now Russian analyst Eldar Murtazin is reporting that Android 5.0 will carry the Key Lime Pie branding and will be announced as early as February or March. He also expects the new platform will be released in May or June of 2013, stating that the platform will bring several improvements to tablets. Could these reports have validity Since they coincide with the sighting of the new platform on a new device?

The device is question, the Sony LT30i is expected to be a version of the Sony Xperia T, which has the LT30 model number. The LT30i features 720p HD display of an unknown size and is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 chip with an Adreno 220 graphics processor.

For now we will put these up as rumors as we wait for more information to back up these reports in the coming weeks and months ahead.
