It has been five years since Android was first announced back on November 5, 2007 and Google is rumored to be planned to celebrate this by releasing five different Nexus devices from five different manufacturers.
Up until now we haven't heard much about these Nexus devices other than revealed prototype of the LG Optimus Nexus and rumors of an HTC Nexus X and Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2. Most recently revealed is what claims to be the Sony Nexus of which some pictures have leaked online.
[UPDATE] It has been confirmed that the aforementioned Sony Nexus images are fakes. You can read more about it here.
Do keep in mind that this is still just a rumor and should be treated as nothing more until some solid evidence of this device is revealed.
The new Nexus strategy seams to have Google bringing high end offerings from their partner manufacturers under the Nexus branding. This differs from the current low priced devices like the Google Galaxy Nexus which is one of the cheapest dual-core smartphones and the ultra affordable Google Nexus 7.
The new strategy is also evident in the rumored Nexus 10 which is setting itself to be a premium device which plans to directly compete with the Apple iPad.
