Microsoft Windows 8 launch event - Live Coverage


Today is Windows 8 Day, and Microsoft is scheduled to officially launch their newest operating system during a special event celebrating the launch. The event will take place in New York City between 10AM and 3PM and we will be bringing you our own coverage right here starting at 11.15 EST (10:15 AM CDT | 08:15 AM PDT | 05:15 PM CET | 03:15 PM GMT).

Microsoft has already given us several glimpses of Windows 8, through we have still to see the improvements in the final build. Windows 8 is already available for pre-order and will officially go on sale starting tomorrow.

Microsoft has a lot riding on Windows 8 which will has been redesigned with touch computers and tablets in mind. Along with Windows RT which will be available on ARM based tablets and Windows Phone 8, Microsoft will offer users a full ecosystem of Windows products ready to take on the post PC era.

Following the Windows 8 Event, Microsoft will also unveil the Microsoft Surface RT. The device features a 10.6-inch HD touch display, has up to 64GB of internal storage on the Windows RT which can be expanded through microSD and is powered by an NVidia Tegra based processor. It is already available for pre-order and will be available through Microsoft Stores on October 26th.
