Today Google announced the Google Nexus 4 and they have followed that by unveiling the Google Nexus 10 for the first time. The tablet has been rumored for some time now and we have finally gotten confirmation of its extremely generous 2650x1600 pixel Super AMOLED display which has a 299 ppi pixel density.
Other than for its ultra high definition 10 inch display, the device also features a 10.1 inch display with a generous 2560×1600 pixel resolution, up to 32GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera for capable of 1080p video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and will is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM.
One unfortunate negative is the lack of microSD storage, which Google has adamantly kept off their Nexus Series. Google promises that users will have the best experience when Android apps and games are run on the internal storage of the device, and we will have to take their word on that.
Another turn off for some, maybe the fact that this high end device is encased in plastic. Google’s Martias Duarte, assures us that this is essential so the device remains thin and light, while offering users a solid grip to enable using the tablet with one hand. At 8.9mm thin and weighing in at 603g the Nexus 10 manages to achieve this as it is both thinner and lighter than the Apple iPad 4.
The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which adds new features like Multiple user accounts for tablets, Photo Sphere, widgets on the lockscreen among other features and improvements.
The Google Nexus 10 will be available to the public starting November 13 thorough the Google Play Store in US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan. The Nexus 10 will cost $399 for the 16GB version, while the 32Gb variant will cost only $499. Even though Google has already listed the device in the store, there is no news on when it will be available for pre-order.
