Besides announcing the smaller Apple iPad mini, Apple also announced the 4th generation iPad during the special event today in California. The Apple iPad 4 retains the same 9.7 inch Retina display along with the dimensions and weight of the Apple iPad 3 but doubles the processing and graphics power of their tablet with a new Apple A6X chipset. Apple has also introduced an HD front facing video camera to offer a richer FaceTime video calling experience.
Apple has also introduced the lightning connector to the iPad 4, which surprisingly hasn't contributed to a thinner and lighter design, similar to what we saw with the Apple iPhone 5. The new iPad also has faster Wi-Fi connectivity and enhanced LTE connectivity which allows the iPad 4 to be a used globally on various LTE bands.
The pricing will remain the same as the previous generation and will cost $499 for the 16GB and $629 for the 16GB with data connectivity. Each storage variant (32GB, 64GB) will cost an additional $100 depending on your choice.
The iPad 4 will be available in the US through Verizon, AT&T and Sprint and can be purchased in either Black or White.
