Nokia Suite for Windows updated (3.6)

The Nokia Suite has been updated (3.6.11) and makes it easier to sync your data with your Lumia smartphone by exporting your data from your old device onto SkyDrive. The update also offers several improvements and fixes.

The update is still only available through Nokia Beta labs and will eventually make its way as an automatic update to your existing Nokia Suite. If you want to try it right now, you can download it using the following link.

You can use Nokia Suite to sync your contacts, media and messages, backup your phone and even deliver firmware upgrades and even lets you load maps of countries to your Nokia Maps app for offline navigation.
With Outlook syncing you can have your contacts, mail and calendars in sync with your Lumia device and your Windows computer.

The update to Ovi Suite breaks the dependency with Microsoft Zune, which is currently the only way to manage your Windows Phone on your Windows computer.

[UPDATE] We just wanted to update this post and apologize for the incorrect information before. Nokia Lumia devices cannot connect to the new Nokia Suite and you will still have to use Microsoft Zune to connect and sync your Lumia device.

The Nokia Suite reads users contacts/calendar/photos from Symbian/Meego/S40 phone and uploads content to Microsoft SkyDrive. From Microsoft SkyDrive, users can conveniently download content to their new Lumia phone.
