Google discontinues its prepaid card in Wallet, offers refunds to users
Google has announced that they have cancelled their prepaid cards in Google Wallet. We aren't really surprised by this move since Google Wallet now allows any bank card to be added to your wallet, which removes the need for Google having to maintain their own card.
Users will not be able to add any balance to their prepaid cards after September 17th and the card will be permanently removed on October 17th.
You can spend your balance before the final date or opt for a refund. However keep in mind that a refund can take up to 8 weeks to reach you. If you choose to spend your balance remember that you can combine your Google pre-paid card balance with other cards.
