It’s been ages since we saw a Windows Phone in Verizon’s lineup, in fact the HTC Trophy which is the only device available was part of the first Windows Phone lineup from back in 2010.
Verizon arguably made the smart decision to stay away from Windows Phone in favor of the upcoming Windows Phone 8, and Nokia’s Richard Kerris says "it won't be long" before we see a Nokia Windows Phone become a part of Verizon’s device lineup.
While there was no exact date revealed Kerris did hint that we could expect something as early as this fall. We assume these could be the Nokia Lumia devices which were recently leaked through Nokia’s RDA program. He even said that they'll have something tasty in the Spring that will have customers climbing over themselves.
Now many Verizon users who have impatiently waited for Windows Phones to join their choice of options have been eyeing the PureView technology which debuted on the Nokia 808 PureView.
At this point we think its likely Verizon and Sprint users will first get a taste of Windows Phone 8 devices in the Unibody polycarbonate design made famous by the Nokia Lumia 900, with a PureView Windows Phone coming after.
As Windows Phone 8 is due for release this fall, we hopefully wont have to wait long before we get a glimpse at the next generation of Windows Phones from Nokia.
