Nokia Air - Nokia’s Cloud Based Operating System ?

NokiaAir

A video was recently leaked online titled Nokia Air. The video which carries Nokia’s confidential watermark on it demonstrates some cool looking mobile devices and a cloud based service.

Check out the Nokia Air video which follows:

What is Nokia Air ? The video demonstrates a mobile operating system like we haven't seen before, definitely not in Symbian or Windows Phone. The video demonstrates a menu free user interface with content and apps streamed directly from the cloud similar to Google’s Chrome OS.

The hardware which is demonstrated is also modern and look to be concepts so we definitely get a feel we are looking at something coming in the future.

Nokia’s issue with Symbian was that it just couldn't compete with the competing mobile platforms. Meego showed immense potential with an innovative design and easy to use experience for the Nokia N9 users, but Nokia chose to hold off and go with Windows Phone to win back developers.

If Nokia was choosing to build a new mobile operating system, they would have to build one ahead of anything we have today, and Nokia Air may just be that operating system. Instead of providing cloud services Nokia can provide a cloud based operating system which can span an entire ecosystem of mobile devices.

If mobile is our future, Nokia is definitely taking a step in the right direction. But how soon can we expect Nokia Air?

I hope Nokia leaps onto this sooner rather than later, because the video shows that Nokia has something to win back people’s respect for the company which once ruled the world of mobiles.
