Apple OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) Gold Master, now available for download
During the WWDC 2012 keynote, Apple promised that OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) will be ready for the public by July and it looks like Apple may be very close to completing the latest version of OS X as Mountain Lion Golden Master (GM) is now available for download to developers registers in the Mac Developer Program.
The GM build which can be compared to a Release Candidate in Microsoft’s terms indicates that the software, or operating system in this case is near completion.
Assuming that the GM release has no bugs, we can expect Mountain Lion to appear next in the Mac App Store reader for the public to download and enjoy.
OS X Mountain Lion which is a significant update to OS X 10.7 Lion will bring even more features we know and love in iOS to Apple’s desktop operating system. This will include features like iMessage, Game Center, Notes/ Reminders, Facebook/Twitter integration, Voice Dictation, Notification Center and improved iCloud support among other features.
OS X Mountain Lion also brings native support for Retina Displays, which would be very usuful for anyone who recently invested in the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
So if you are a developer registered in the Mac Developer Program, head over here and get your copy of OS X 10.8 GM as the rest of us impatiently wait for the update to hit the Mac App Store.
