We previously did a comparison of what features of iOS 6 will come to each of the eligible devices, and it turns out things have changed for the Apple iPhone 3GS.
The oldest of the eligible devices will be receiving the shared photo streams and VIP mail features with the iOS 6.
In fact it would have been surprising if it hadn't received these features as they don't seem to be out of the iPhone 3GS hardware capabilities. Features like the new mapping solution from Apple is still a no show and will unlikely reach the older device.
This information comes from developers who have been testing the recently released iOS 6 Beta 3 on the iPhone 3GS. While these features were previously restricted, they have not been made available for the device.
Will we see more features of iOS 6 released for the iPhone 3GS ? Only time will tell, meanwhile it is great to see Apple updating their 3 year old device with the latest software while Windows Phone users are left hanging with no access to Windows Phone 8.
