The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha is a developer device which RIM handed out to developers who attended the BlackBerry Jam this year. The Developer device is a shrunken version of the BlackBerry Playbook. It has a 4.2 inch touchscreen with a 1024x768 pixel resolution.Since it shares the same resolution as the PlayBook the Dev Alpha has a pixel density of over 300 DPI. Developers will have the opportunity to test their apps on the device as we prepare for the public launch of BlackBerry OS 10.
The device functionality has also been stripped down with developers only having access to the web browser and the camera application.
The folks at CrackBerry who got their hands on the device have provided a detailed hands on with the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha
