Verizon and Sprint have stayed clear of the Windows Phone platform for some time now, but this may not be the case for much longer. A recent report reveals that both carriers will have some amazing Windows Phone 8 devices in their lineup.
The report suggests that Verizon will feature a Nokia Windows Phone 8 device with the PureView camera technology which debuted on the Nokia 808 PureView. The device is said to feature an HD ClearBlack display, LTE connectivity and to be powered by a Snapdragon S4 processor. One surprising factor is that the camera would have a 12 megapixel sensor instead of the 41 megapixel sensor found on the 808 Pureview. The last fact doesn’t set in line with our understanding of the PureView technology, so we will have to wait and see if this is true.
Sprint is said to be opting for a Nokia device with a 4 inch display with a WVGA resolution and a full physical QWERTY keyboard. Since we have still to see the successor to the Nokia E7 it will be Nokia’s business series with Windows Phone under its hood.
The report has also shared that Lenovo and Asus are also planning to manufacture Windows Phone devices. Given that these manufacturers have been planning Windows 8 for ARM tablets, we are very curious to see how Windows Phone 8 shapes out in terms of Windows integration.
